Akinwumi Samson Sowore
Hon. Commissioner
Hon. Akinwumi Samson was born to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Sowore on 12th June 1975 in Kiribo, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
He attended L.A Primary School, Kiribo between 1984 and 1990. He had his Secondary Education at Kiribo Community High School between 1990 and 1996, and came out with flying colour in the West African School Certificate Examination (1996).
In 2006, Hon. Akinwumi Sowore proceeded to Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko for his bachelors degree in Political Science Education (B.Sc, ed.) and graduated with a Second Class in 2011. He proceeded to the University of Rhold Island, U.S.A and obtained certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies in 2007. Afterwards, Hon. Sowore was admitted into Igbinedion University Okada, Edo State in 2011 where he obtained bachelor’s degree in Law (LL. B) in 2016. He subsequently proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Kano Campus in 2017 and was called to bar in 2018. He proceeded to the School of Post Graduate, University of Abuja between 2019 and 2021. Due to his unlimited thirst and quest for knowledge, he proceeded to University of Abuja and obtained his Master’ Degree in Law (LL.M In view) between 2019 and 2021.
Hon. Akinwumi Sowore started his political career as a Special Adviser on Community Development Matters to the Chairman Ese-Odo Local Government Area in 2002 to 2004. Premised on his passion to take up a more challenging career and to further positively influence the society, he joined the Civil Service of Ondo State as Community Development Officer in Ese-Odo Local Government in 2005.
He was thereafter appointed as Caretaker Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government between 2011 and 2013. He subsequently served as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State in 2015 and 2016. He also served as Special Adviser on Legal Matter to the Distinguished Senator who represented Ondo South Senatorial District in 2019 and 2020. He was also Special Adviser to the Chairman House Committee on Niger Dental Development Commission (NDDC) member the presenting Akoko North/East/South Worth between 2019 and 2022. In the course of his career, he has demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities that have positively motivated the people.
Hon. Akinwumi is currently serving as the Commissioner for Ministry of Commerce Industry and Cooperative Services, he is happy married and blessed with productively Children.
Funmilayo Akinola
Ag. Permanent Secretary
Mrs. Akinola Funmilayo Agbaminoja was born to the family of Prince & Mrs. Afolabi on 24th May 1968 in Ute in the defunct Owo Local Government, now Ose
Local Government.
She attended St Andrew Primary School, Owo between 1973 and 1979. She had her Secondary Education at Owo High School between 1979 and 1985, and came out with flying colours in the West African School Certificate Examination (1985).
Mrs. Akinola proceeded to the defunct Ondo State College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti in 1985 for the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), which has now metamorphosed into Bamidele Olumilua University of Sciences Technology and Education and graduated with a ‘Distinction’ in Guidance and Counselling in 1988. She therefore proceeded to the Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti, now Ekiti State University for her Bachelor of Education Degree(B.Ed.) in Education Guidance and Counselling in 1991 and graduated with second class (Hons.) Upper Division in 1995, and obtained her Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Ondo State University Akungba-Akoko between 2002 and 2004. Sequel to her unlimited thirst and quest for knowledge to achieve relevance in many spheres of the Dynamic Global Development, she proceeded to the University of Ilorin for another Master’s Degree in Arts and Strategic Studies between 2009 and 2010.
Mrs. Akinola started her career as a classroom teacher at Comprehensive High School, Ilara Mokin in 1988. Premised on her passion to take up a more challenging career and further positively influence the society, she joined the Civil Service of Ondo State as Administrative Officer II in 2001. She has served meritoriously in various capacities of the Administrative Cadre in different Ministries /Departments and Agencies and risen to the substantive posts of Director of Administration. She has attended and participated in many resourceful National and International Conferences, training and workshop Programmes. She is a member of the Institutes of Public Administration of Nigeria, and International Leadership Association.
In the course of her career, she has demonstrated exemplary leadership styles that have positively motivated the career development of many junior officers that were fortunate to work with her. Her dexterity and administrative acumen have accounted for her right judgements and accurate decision making ability, which are some of the factors responsible for her successes in all the offices where she has worked. Her dedication to duty, loyalty to constituted authority and resolve to uphold the tenets of the public service have made her a great asset to the system.
Mrs.Akinola is currently serving as the Ag. Permanent Secretary of the Ondo State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services. She is happily married and blessed with productive children.
Abidakun Ajibola
Drector, Finance and Administration
Mr. Abidakun Ajibola is the Director Finance and Administration of the Ministry, he attended St. Thomas Aquinas College, Akure between 1978 –
1983, he went to Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti in year 1986 – 1990 and was awarded B.A. (Hons).
He later went to Nigeria Institute of Journalism, Ogba- Ikeja in 1994 – 1995 where he bagged his PGD in Journalism.
He worked at Ondo State Pension Board 2010- 2012 (AOI), Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development (PPUD) 2012 -2013 (AOI). He was later transferred to Ministry of Youth and Sports in the year 2013-2014 (SAO). He worked at the Office of Establishment and Training 2014-2017 as Assistant Director, he worked at the Office of Secretary to State Government (SSG) as Special Assistant, Ministry of Women Affairs as the Director of Finance and Administration where he was transferred to Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services as the Director of Finance and Administration.
As a journalist with over ten years in a print medium (The Hope Newspaper) where he had the privilege of writing a Colum, he enjoyed writing on contemporary issues. He is an exemplary team leader.
Williams Braiye Felix FICP
Director, Cooperative Services
MR WILLIAMS BRAIYE FELIX attended St Mary's Fac Primary School Ajapa , Ondo State between 1980-1986 and obtained Primary Six School Leaving
Certificate.
He further went to Okhuba - Ama High School, Ajapa and obtained SSCE in 1992.. He proceeded to Delta State University Abraka and obtained B.A. ED (Hon) History in 2000 and served his N.Y.S.C at Dutsin-ma, Katsina State in 2001. He attended Federal Cooperative College, Eleyele, Ibadan, Oyo State between 2002-2003 where he obtained Diploma in Cooperative Studies. He later obtained Masters in Public Administration from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo-State in 2014. Another Masters in Peace and Conflict Resolution in National Open University of Nigeria in 2023
He joined Ondo State Civil Service in 2002 as Registrar of Cooperative Societies. He served as the Administrative Secretary of Community Development Committee (CDC) Ese-Odo Local Government Area between 2005 to 2009, he became Deputy Director, Cooperative Services in 2010 and in 2011 he was appointed as the Director of Cooperative Services, Ondo State.
He attended many professional and management trainings, workshops, seminars and conferences within and outside the country.
Obanla Samuel Olusola
Director, Planning Reseach and Statistics
Mr. obanla Samuel Olusola attended Agolo High School Ikare Akoko, Ondo State where He obtained his Secondary School Certificate in 1986.
He went to Ondo State Polytechnic, Owo then, now Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo in 1998 where he obtained diploma in Marketing. He proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife and obtained (ADV.DIP) Marketing in 2000, He later proceeded to Imo State University to obtained PGD in marketing in 2001 He later obtained MBA in Management from Imo State University, Owerri, Imo State in 2003.
He joined the Ondo State Government Civil Service in 1989. He worked at Ondo State Radiovision Cooperation (OSRC) in 1989 and worked there between 1989-2017, He later worked at Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency between 2018-2020 and joined the Ministry of commerce, Industry and Cooperative in 2021 where he works till date.
He has a good interpersonal relationship and communication skills, he can take on challenges and work with little or no supervision. He also has a strong team spirit, transparent and committed to job at hand.
Ikuyinminu Temitope
Director, Small Scale Industry
Mr. Ikuyinminu is the Director, Small Scale Industry of the Ministry, He attended Layelu high school, Ode Aye, Okitipupa Local Government of Ondo State
between 1979-1984 and obtained his Senior School Certificate Ordinary Level. He proceeded to University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State between 1989-1994 and was awarded B.Sc.(Hons) Economics. He attended Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State between 2004-2007 where He obtained his Masters of Business Administration (MBA). He proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile ife, Osun State between 2013-2017 and bagged his M.Sc. (Hon) Demography and Social Statistics. He got his professional qualification as a member of Chattered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria(ACTI) in the year 2010.
He worked with Lagos State Government at Post Primary Teaching Service commission between 1996-2000. He joined Ondo State Government in 2000. Worked at Board of Internal Revenue as Head of Legal Unit, District Tax Officer, Liaison Officer to the Board in FCT, Abuja, Assistant Director, High Networth Individuals Unit (HNI), Deputy Director, Pay As You Earn (PAYE).
He was deployed to the Ministry as the Director of Small Scale Industry, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives Services in the year 2019.
He has the ability to build a succession plan, delegation and conflict resolution, confident and integrity, emotional intelligence. He is an examplinary team leader.
Awodogan Olusegun
Director of Commerce
Mr. Awodogan Olusegun attended St. Theresa’s Primary School Oke Agbe, Akoko, Ondo State where He obtained his Primary School Certificate in 1977,
He studied at Ajuwa Grammer School Oke Agbe Akoko and obtained his Secondary School Certificate Examination in 1982. He furthered his study at Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ASPS), Stanford United Kingdom (UK) 1987. He studied at the University of Lagos and obtain his (Adv. Dip) Business Administration in 1998. He proceeded to Imo State University Owerri where he obtained his Post Graduate Study (PGD) in Management (MGT) in 2004, He later proceeded to Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma to obtain his (B.Sc.) Business Administration in 2007.
He worked at Ministry of Health as Higher Store Officer 2002-2003, He later worked at Central Medical Store as the Chief Store Officer between 2003-2005, Agric Input Supply Agency as Principle Store Officer between 2005-2009, Agric Input Supply Agency as Depot Officer 2011-2012. He was deployed to Ministry of Commerce where he was the Senior Commercial Officer between 2013 – 2016 and became the Director of Commerce in 2016.

Janet Morenike Olanipekun
Director of Account
Mrs. Olanipekun is the Director, Accounts of the Ministry, she attended Ondo State Polytechnic Owo in Owo Local Government of Ondo State and
obtained her Ordinary National Diploma, (HND) Accountancy IN 1989. She proceeded to Federal Polytechnic Ado, Ado Ekiti State between and was awarded HND in Accountancy in 1991. She attended Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, Ondo State between where She obtained her (PGDFM). Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, (MBA), 2012. She got her professional qualification as a member of the Association of National Accountancy of Nigeria (CNA) 2009.
She worked with Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) as Principal Accountant between 1998-2008. She worked as an Accountant with General Hospital, Ikare Akoko between 2008-2009. Worked with Service Matters as Accountant between 2009-2016. Labour and Productivity (DDA) 2010 – 2011. Accountantant General Office (DDA), Government Printing Press 2011-2012. Ondo State Waste Management Authority as Director of Accounts (DA) 2020 -2022.
She was deployed to the Ministry as the Director of Accounts, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives Services in the year 2022.
She has a very good human relation, emotional intelligence and good leadership skills.
Christianah Omobola Ajibogun
Director of Investment Promotion and Management
The Director Investment Promotion and management of the Ministry, is MRS AJIBOGUN CHRISTIANAH OMOBOLA.
She attended CAC Primary School Akure between 1978-1983, St Louis’ Girls Grammar School between 1983 to 1988 later Obokun High School, Ilesha 1989 to 1990 where she obtained WAEC Certificate she was in Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti 1991-1994 and obtained National Diploma in Secretarial Administration and Higher National diploma in same Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti between 1995 and1997 and finally post graduate Diploma in Public Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba in 2011 she joined the service in 2003 at the office of establishment and training as Confidential Secretary, got transferred to the office of the Cabinet and Special Service Governor’s Office 2006 and later transferred to the office of the Head of Service 2009, she later converted her cadre and was posted to the Ministry as Commercial officer in 2012, as Senior Commercial officer in 2017 as Deputy Director, and in August 2019 as Director Investment Promotion and Management.
She is a native of Akure in Akure South Local Government of Ondo State.
